How can I be cly but still punk?

So here's my dilemma. I want to have a cly style (i.e. on up shirts) but still have it so that i don't look preppy at school. that's where the punk (i.e. converses, spiked bracelets.) comes in. So if you don't mind could you ladies and gentlemen give me some ideas so i can upgrade my wardrobe (which is lacking right now :[ ). Mind you i'm in high school, and that means i'm on the poorer end of the monetary spectrum. I also have no problem with changing my hair (i.e. getting it cut or dyed) . i would love suggestions on the punky and the cly. Please and thank you ^_^
