Four links folders will not delete?

I am a moderator with four links folders that have been under investigation by Yahoo for over one year with Yahoo asking me to be patient because although they are empty folders, they refuse to be deleted! There must surely be a simple reason for this. When deleting the clearly visible, empty, re-nameable and otherwise re-usable folders an error is reported, "A file or directory does not exist!" ????Yahoo!
