Evolution, Creationism, why not just tell the truth to our kids?

How hard would it be to tell our kids we don't know? Everybody has his or her own beliefs but in reality we do not know for sure where we came from or where we are going. Teach them the different theories from around the world, let them do the research, and maybe someday we will actually know the answer or is that against the law also?
